This illuminated manuscript of the Holy Qur’an was written by calligrapher Yaqut al-Musta’simi in AH 667 / AD 1268 according to the colophon on page 467. Its leather binding is not original. The first four pages and some others in between are illuminated. The illuminations are made with black ink and blue paint on gild and feature calligraphy, geometric and floral compositions. The Qur’an is written in naskhi script in carmine and black inks on finished paper.
