It is located in Babus Sheikh Neighbourhood in Baghdad city center. Located inside a social complex, Abdulkadir Geylani, who was a student at the madrasa, was buried there when he died in 1165 and his mausoleum was built by Hambeli scribe Ebu Said el Mübarek bin Ali el Muharremi in the madrasa, built in 1145.
The mausoleum is adjacent to the mosque on the East side in the center of the social complex. The squared planned body rises cylindrically. The onion shaped dome is entered through triangular tromps . The mausoleum's dome is covered by glazing tiles.
Abdulkadir Geylani sarcophagus inside the mausoleum is covered by a silver cage with plant decorations.
The social complex, which has a large courtyard, contains islamic monastery and minarets.
Built in 1165, the mausoleum was enlarged later by repairs. Suleyman the Magnificent ordered Architect Sinan ta rebuild the social complex after The lraq campaign (1534). it underwent major renovation by iV. Murad in 1638 and was repaired by Sultan il. Ahmet in 1708, Sultan Abdulaziz in 1865 and Abdülhamit in 1903. it was restored by the lraq Ministry of Foundations between 1982-
