Lugs

Turkiye13th Century

Özellikler

Such lugs in the form of a bird were widely used both as a lug and ornament on a lid. As it is easier to separate from the joints these lugs have survived. The birds with a crest on top of their heads have their tails curving upward, or opening up like a fan reminiscent of a palmette. Wings and eyes of some figures are enhanced in relief while others are decorated by engraving.
